כמו כן, בחר בו סטריאופייל לדירוג CLASS A והגדיר אותו ב"שיא" מבחינת הביצועים והתכנון:

ה - 868 נמצא ב"טופ" של האודיו העולמי, וכמובן שאין לו תחרות מבחינת הערך לכסף. אין בארץ שום מכשיר שמתחרה בו, והאופציה להוסיף לו פונו סטייג' מדהים (שהוא המעגל של הפונו סטייג' EAR 88 ) עושה אותו גם לבחירה היחידה לכל משתמש פטיפון שמעוניין באיכות הגבוהה ביותר. בכתבה הראשונה שיצאה עליו, החודש, הוא זכה בחמישה כוכבים (מתוך חמישה) ובתואר "SUPERB".

ה - EA868 אינו זול, אבל הביצועים שלו הופכים את מחירו למציאה. בשער החליפין הנמוך הנוכחי של המטבע האנגלי, הערך שלו גבוהה אפילו עוד יותר.

לגבי זה לא אטרקטיבי בתמחורים האלה .
ודווקא מצא חן בעיני מאד, לנסות ולהחליף את הקדם שלי בזה ..

את האמת שחשבתי בכיוון של ה EAR בשדרוג ה CDP שלי ל ACUTE שלהם ..אך אם התמחורים זהים , לא נראה לי ..
