מה, כמה אלבומים ? לא ספרתי אבל הולך להיות צפוף בקרוב (תמיד היו הרבה הוצאות לקראת עונת החגים בארה"ב). עוד קצת על החמישיה השניה מהסדרה חמישים רגעים גדולים בג'אז של הגרדיאן.

נרדמתי בשמירה ושכחתי את מהפכת אוקטובר בג'אז.  בין ה-1 ל-4 לאוקטובר ביל דיקסון מקים את ה- Jazz Composers Guild ומארגן ארוע מכונן בהתפתחות הג'אז וללא ספק אבן דרך בג'אז החפשי: סקר בן ארבעה ימים של חזית האוונגרד שכולל קונצרטים של כל חברינו דלעיל, דיונים והרצאות אל תוך הליל. המטרה של דיקסון היתה להוכיח למבקרי הג'אז שהמוזיקה החדשה יכולה למשוך קהל משמעותי. בסיוע פמפום יח"צ ב-Village Voice כל אחד מהלילות אכן סיפק את הסחורה עם תורים ארוכים משתרכים בכניסה למועדון בהמתנה לאירועים המרתוניים. בקהל נכחו גם דמויות שלא הוזכרו רשמית בתכניה כמו אורנט קולמן, גיל אוונס, וארצ'י שפ). הארוע גרר שתי סקירות משמעותיות זו לצד זו ב-Downbit.

 ב-15 לאוקטובר 1964 נפטר קול פורטר, מאשיות ספר השירים האמריקאי שנתן לנו בין השאר את Begin the beguine, I concentrate on you, Love for sale, Could it be you, Let's fall in love, Night and day, Anything goes, What is this thing called love, I've got you under my skin ועוד, ועוד, ועוד...
